Private handling at Reykjavík BIRK

Reykjavík has 2 handling companies for private and business aircraft: Reykjavík FBO and ACE FBO. Ask your operator which one they have booked.

Who handles private aircraft

Where the terminals are

Reykjavík FBO in Terminal 2 with lounge and private customs clearance; about 3–5 minutes from aircraft to a hotel reception. Contact +354 551 1022, ops@reykjavikfbo.is. ACE FBO +354 552 1611.

Prior permission (PPR) is required before you land.

Customs

On request – arranged through the handling agent; private clearance inside the FBO

Opening hours

Daily 07:00–23:00 (weekends and holidays 08:00–23:00) local. Closed to all traffic outside these hours except emergencies.

Winter and summer hours are the same: no operations after 23:00, so plan departures and arrivals before then. Private aircraft must be registered in advance through the handling agent, and APU use is limited to 20 minutes; heated hangar space is limited and best booked early for May–September.
